American film, tv and stage actor Billy Crudup will star in the London premiere of Harry Clarke, a wickedly funny one man show from award winning playwright David Cale.

In Harry Clarke, The Morning Show star plays a a shy, Midwestern man masquerading as a cocky Londoner in New York City. As he charms his way into a wealthy family’s life, his increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to unravel his persona.

Crudup originated the role of Harry Clarke in the world premiere production at the off-Broadway Vineyard Theatre in 2017, reprising his performance at the Minetta Lane Theatre – also off-Broadway – in 2018 and most recently at Berkley Repertory Theatre in California last year. Crudup is a four-time Tony Award nominee, winning once for his performance in Tom Stoppard’s play The Coast of Utopia in 2007. His numerous stage performances include Waiting For Godot, No Man’s Land, The Pillowman, Measure for Measure and Arcadia.

Since 2019 Crudup has portrayed the character Cory Ellison in the Apple TV+ show The Morning Show alongside Jennifer Aniston and Reece Witherspoon. Last week he won a Critics Choice Award for his performance in the show adding to adding to his 2020 Prime Time Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor on the show.

Crudup’s many film roles include Mission: Impossible III, The Good Shepherd, Almost Famous, Watchmen, Eat Pray Love, Spotlight, Alien: Covenant and Justice League.

The creative team for Harry Clarke also includes Scenic Design by Alexander Dodge; Costume Design by Kaye Voyce; Lighting Design by Alan C. Edwards; Sound Design by Bart Fasbender; Original Songs by David Cale; Vocal Coaching by Deborah Lapidus; and Dialect Coaching by Deborah Hecht and Jessica Berman.

Harry Clarke will play a limited 9-week run at The Ambassadors Theatre in London’s West End from 9 March 2024 until 11 May 2024.
