Following a sold-out, critically acclaimed run at the Vault Festival, new musical In Clay comes to Upstairs at the Gatehouse theatre for a limited run.
Based on a true story, this poignant musical about ambition, regret and self-fulfilment is told from a quaint Parisian kitchen in the late 1930s.
In Clay debuted at this year’s Vault Festival to stellar reviews and was nominated for Show of the Week, an Offies OffFest award, and shortlisted for the Stiles & Drewe MTI Mentorship Award.
The show stars Rosalind Ford (Once) as Marie-Berthe Cazin, with Eleanor Walsh (Heathers) as the alternate.
In Clay is playing Upstairs at the Gatehouse in London from 13 March to 7 April 2024.
Marie-Berthe Cazin, a ceramist in her early 40s, eagerly awaits the arrival of her closest childhood friend and now celebrated artist, Henrietta Tirman. As Marie prepares for the evening ahead, she reflects on the great joys and sorrows of a life devoted to making art.
