A new series of Christmas concerts are coming to London’s Southbank Centre this December 2023, with Festive Concerts at the Royal Festival Hall celebrating the worlds of classical and contemporary music and film.

Christmas Classics at the Royal Festival Hall will feature Guys & Dolls star Marisha Wallace, who is set to perform classic Christmas songs with a live orchestra, hosted by YolanDa Brown.

Christmas Classics at the Royal Festival Hall will take place across 5 dates, from 15 to 17 December 2023.

The Philharmonia Orchestra will play on Friday 15 and Sunday 17 December, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on Saturday 16 December with the London Philharmonic Choir; also the London Youth Choirs, a collective of choirs comprised of young people from all corners of London, will also perform in all five concerts.

Alongside your favourite Christmas carols, songs featured in the concert include Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, and Maria’s Carey’s All I want for Christmas is you!

Other concerts in the series include Tommy Blaize from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing singing Christmas movie themes in Christmas In Tinseltown on 14 December, hosted by film critic Mark Kermode.

Tommy Blaize will perform the best loved Christmas movie themes alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert will feature music from Christmas movie classics including Elf, The Holiday, The Grinch and Miracle on 34th Street.

Festive Concerts at the Royal Festival Hall will also host E.T. the Extra Terrestrial In Concert on Wednesday 13 December, accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Actor Marisha Wallace said: “I am so excited to be taking part in the Festive concerts this season. I performed at Royal Festival Hall last year and I fell in love with the venue. The festive season is my favourite time of the year, so I am happy you will be joining me in celebrating. I will be singing some of your favourite Christmas songs and some new Christmas songs too. It will be wonderful night for the whole family to enjoy. I can’t wait to see you there”.

Marisha Wallace is also starring in the forthcoming Rodgers & Hammerstein tribute concert My Favorite Things: The Rodgers & Hammerstein 80th Anniversary Concert on 12 December at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Wallace was recently nominated for a 2023 Evening Standard Theatre Award for her performance as Miss Adelaide in Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre in London. The ceremony to announce the winners is this Sunday, 19 November 2023.

Also coming to the Royal Festival Hall this holiday season are benefit concerts Christmas Actually, from 7 to 11 December 2023.
