West End favourite Rob Madge has won this year’s Theatre Award at the 2023 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar.

Rob’s debut play My Son’s a Queer, (But What Can You Do?) proved a West End hit, playing at the Garrick Theatre and Ambassador’s Theatre and bagging Rob an Olivier Award nomination and a What’s On Stage Award.

Rob is about to star in the London Palladium panto Peter Pan alongside Jennifer Saunders and Julian Clary. Rob is also hosting the Stiles + Drewe Best Song Prize next month at The Other Palace.

Other winners of this year’s awards included comedian Joe Lycett, actor and cabaret star Le Gateau Chocolat, who won the Culture Award, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Sasha Colby, and the Honorary Gay Award went to legendary performer Dame Shirley Bassey.

The awards ceremony took place yesterday, Wednesday 11 October 2023, at the Roundhouse in Camden, London hosted by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr.
