Initial casting has been revealed for the new British stage show Bank of Dave The Musical.
Emmerdale’s Hayley Tamaddon will play Nicky, Lucca Chadwick-Patel (Mean Girls, Savoy Theatre) will play Hugh, Claire Moore (The Great British Bake Off Musical, Noël Coward Theatre) will play Maureen and Lauryn Redding (Coven, Kiln Theatre) will play Alex. The role of Dave is yet to be announced.
The new musical has a book and lyrics by Rob Madge (Cabaret), music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary (The Great British Bake Off Musical), and will be directed by Curve Artistic Director Nikolai Foster (Kinky Boots, A Chorus Line).
The stage adaptation is based on the Sunday Times bestselling book, BAFTA Award-winning documentary and global hit Netflix film of the same name, with a screenplay by Piers Ashworth. It tells the true-ish story of Dave Fishwick, who founded a community bank in Burnley after discovering that local businesses couldn’t secure loans from larger banks.
It is billed as a feel-good musical with the humour of The Full Monty and the spirit of Billy Elliot.
The show is produced by ROYO, Future Artists Entertainment, Curve and Lowry.
Bank of Dave The Musical will run at The Lowry, Manchester, from 2–26 May, followed by Curve Leicester from 20–30 May 2026.
