Noel Coward's London Calling - Duke of York's Theatre London

Noel Coward’s London Calling concert to star Damian Lewis & Indira Varma

A tribute concert to Noel Coward’s revue London Calling! is coming to the Duke of York’s Theatre in October for one night only.

Damian Lewis (Homeland, Billions) and Indira Varma (Present Laughter, Macbeth) will lead the event, which will also see a performance by Robert Hazle and soprano Georgi Mottram.

The night is to celebrate the centenary of Coward’s first publicly performed musical revue London Calling!, and will be staged in the same theatre where it originally all happened in September 1923.

The actors will be performing extracts from the roles originally created by Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence, and Robert Hazle and soprano Georgi Mottram will recreate the final number from London Calling! – ‘Follow A Star’.

The music to ‘Follow A Star’ was thought to be lost, until a handwritten draft was discovered in Coward’s private collection held at the Noël Coward Archive Trust.

The night will also see the author of new Coward biography ‘Masquerade’, Oliver Soden, and historian Lucinda Gosling, set the revue in its theatrical and social context.

The event is presented by the Noël Coward Foundation.

Noel Coward’s London Calling will play the Duke of York’s Theatre on 5 October 2023.
