Booking to 23 September 2023
★★★★★ “Irresistible… A punchy ode to teenage angst, this gloriously camp coming of age tale is catnip for Potterheads” – The Express
Award-winning comedy Dumbledore Is So Gay is coming to the Southwark Playhouse Borough this summer.
This nostalgia-fuelled homage to Harry Potter, coming out and coming of age in the early 2000s is written by Robert Holtom, and stars Alex Britt (Black Mirror, EastEnders, F**King Men) as Jack, Charlotte Dowding (Splintered, Wind and the Willows) as Gemma and Martin Sarreal as Ollie (Tammy Faye, Corrina Corrina, Sin).
Winner of the VAULT Festival Origins Award, Dumbledore Is So Gay is a sentimental hug to coming of age, coming out and growing up as a fanboy.
Dumbledore Is So Gay will play Southwark Playhouse Borough from 16 August to 23 September 2023.

Life is far from straight for Jack. He was sorted into Hufflepuff, hates studying French, and is in love with his best mate Ollie. He’s dodging bullies worse than Slytherins and living in the metaphorical closet under the stairs, all whilst struggling with unrequited love. When it all gets too much, he takes out his time turner and decides to change his story one spellbinding moment at a time – maybe this time he’ll get the guy and end up in Gryffindor.
