Police Cops: The Musical to get London run, casting announced

Edinburgh Fringe hit comedy company Police Cops are bringing their new musical Police Cops: The Musical to Southwark Playhouse Borough this autumn 2023.

Playing Southwark Playhouse Borough from 8 September to 14 October 2023, Police Cops: The Musical boasts a brand new score by Brit Award winning composer Ben Adams (Eugenius! The Musical), and has book and lyrics created by Zachary Hunt, Nathan Parkinson and Tom Roe.

Hunt, Parkinson and Roe all star in the show, joined by Melinda Orengo, Natassia Bustamante, Mychele Lebrun and Ben Lancaster.

The Police Cops comedy company has played five sell-out years in Edinburgh, with their fast paced, action packed physical comedy shows.

In the musical, Rookie Police Cop Jimmy Johnson joins the force to protect and serve. But now Jimmy’s in deep, partnered up with a renegade Police Cop and leaned on by a racist Chief. With guns loaded and safety catches off, Jimmy’s on a freewheeling adventure from the mean streets of America to Mexico, where destiny awaits in the form of grizzled ex-Police Cop Juanita Gonzalez.

Police Cops: The Musical’s creative team includes Musical Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestrations by Rich Morris; Set and lighting by Andrew Exeter; Sound by Charlie Smith; and Casting by Pearson Casting.

Ahead of London, the show is also playing the Edinburgh Fringe’s Assembly George Square Studios, from 2 to 28 August 2023.
