Shucked, A New Musical Comedy opens in London’s West End in 2024.

Nominated for 9 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL, Shucked features a book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie), a score by the Grammy® Award-winning songwriting team of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, and directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray).

Shucked is a wholly original new musical comedy that gives a nod to past Broadway favourites – The Book of MormonOklahoma! and particularly The Music Man most recently revived with Hugh Jackman – adding a playfully hokey twist. 

Billed as a story about an unlikely hero, an unscrupulous con man, and a battle for the heart & soil of a small town, this corn-fed, corn-bred American musical promises to satisfy your appetite for great musical theatre.

What's the story of Shucked?

Set in a rural community isolated from the world by a wall of economy-driving corn stalks, Shucked follows what happens when the crop begins to fail, and a young woman leaves behind Cob County to try and find someone who can save her town.

Who are the creative team of Shucked?

Shucked features a book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie), a score by the Grammy® Award-winning songwriting team of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, and directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray).

Choreography is by Sarah O’Gleby, and music supervision, music direction, orchestrations, and arrangements by Jason Howland, the design team for Shucked includes Scott Pask (scenic design), Tilly Grimes (costume design), Japhy Weideman (lighting design), John Shivers (sound design), Mia Neal (wig design), and Stephen Kopel, C12 Casting (casting director).

Shucked, the Tony nominated new Broadway musical will transfer to London's West End in 2024. The news, announced via the shows twitter profile said "Breaking news: Shucked is popping up in London next year!!! 🌽 Keep your ear to the ground for more information."
