The revival of Accidental Death of An Anarchist has revealed the full cast of the show, ahead of its West End run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
As previously announced, the play will once again star Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie) as The Maniac and Tony Gardner (Last Tango in Halifax) as Superintendent Curry, reviving their tour de force performances following critically acclaimed, sell-out seasons at the Sheffield Crucible and the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.
Further cast will include Tom Andrews (Our Country’s Good) as Detective Daisy, Mark Hadfield (Notes From a Small Island) as Inspector Burton, Ro Kumar (About Money) as Agent Joseph, and Ruby Thomas (Pride and Prejudice) as Fi Phelan/PC Jackson. Understudies include Joe Boylan, Georgina Hellier and Richard Hodder.
Tom Basden’s adaptation of Dario Fo’s classic farce is directed by Daniel Raggett, who recently directed Lia Williams in The Vortex at Chichester Festival Theatre.
The production is an updated reworking of the classic comedy, ruthlessly exposing the corruption and incompetence of the police.
Now in rehearsals, Accidental Death of An Anarchist will run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 12 June to 9 September 2023.
