First look: Patriots starring Tom Hollander – rehearsal photos

Rehearsal photos are in for the West End transfer of Patriots starring Tom Hollander.

Producers have released a selection of candid rehearsal photos for the hit play which begins preview performances at the Noël Coward Theatre on Friday 26 May. The show opens to the critics on 6 June and will play a limited 12-week run until 19 August.

BAFTA-winning actor Tom Hollander (White Lotus, The Night Manager; Travesties) leads the cast as Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, alongside Will Keen (His Dark Materials) as Vladimir Putin and Luke Thallon (Albion) as Roman Abramovich. The trio reprise their roles from the Almeida Theatre production last summer.

The previously announced cast also features Matt Concannon, Ronald Guttman, Sean Kingsley, Paul Kynman, Jessica Temple, Josef Davies, Ashley Gerlach, Howard Gossington, Stefanie Martini and Evelyn Miller. They are joined by understudies Peter Eastland, Lydia Fraser and Matt McClure.

Directed by the Almeida’s Artistic Director, Rupert Goold (Ink, Enron), Patriots is a brilliant and startlingly timely story of ambition, loyalty and betrayal in a brave new world. Based on real events, the play follows the rise of Vladimir Putin and the Russian oligarchs in 90s Russia. The show was written by The Crown’s Peter Morgan.

Patriots will play a 12-week season at the Noel Coward Theatre on St Martin’s Lance, running from 26 May 2023 until 19 August 2023.
