Creatives behind the forthcoming London run of hit Broadway musical A Strange Loop have posted an explainer video ahead of the show’s London premiere at the Barbican Theatre next month.
A Strange Loop is running at the Barbican Theatre in London for a 12-week limited season from 17 June to 9 September 2023.
The video hears from the show’s creator Michael R. Jackson, director Stephen Bracket, and choreographer Raja Feather Kelly, explaining what the show is about, and how it’s going to make London audiences feel.
A Strange Loop recently announced initial casting, with Kyle Ramar Freeman (Once on This Island) making his West End debut as the central character of Usher, and Jason Pennycooke (Hamilton), Sharlene Hector (Basement Jaxx), Danny Bailey (Jesus Christ Superstar), Eddie Elliott (The Lion King), and Tendai Humphrey Sitima (The Play That Goes Wrong), all playing the 6 Thoughts.
Michael R. Jackson’s A Strange Loop was a smash-hit on Broadway, winning the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2020, and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, winning every Best Musical award in New York.
