Smash-hit musical The Book Of Mormon is celebrating its 10th birthday in London’s West End.
The Olivier and Tony Award winning Best New Musical from the creators of South Park opened on 21 March 2013 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London.
On the night of the 10th birthday, Dom Simpson, who stars as Elder Price in the musical, gave a lovely speech thanking everyone involved in the show, and all of the West End audiences who have seen it over the last decade.
In December the show also celebrated becoming the 17th longest production EVER in London, over-taking Jesus Christ Superstar and Me and My Girl on 20 December 2022 by playing 3391 performances at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London.
The Book of Mormon currently stars Dom Simpson as ‘Elder Price’, Conner Peirson as ‘Elder Cunningham’, Leanne Robinson as ‘Nabulungi’, plus Steven Webb, Richard Lloyd-King, Gavin Alex and Edward Baruwa.
The London company also includes Sanchia Amber Clarke, Jed Berry, Philip Catchpole, Christopher Copeland, Joseph Davenport, Amandla Elynah, Patrick George, George Grayson, Jack Greaves, Tad Hapaguti, Myles Hart, Jed Hoyle, Oliver Jacobson, Michael Lewis, George Littell, Jack Mcneill, Paige Miller, Sasha Monique, Brian O’muiri, Sean Parkins, Kirk Patterson, Mimi Rodrigues Alves, Stephen Rolley, Chomba S. Taulo, Ben Tyler, and Aisha Williams.
The hit Broadway musical follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get – Uganda! As they attempt to bring the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to a community ravaged by War Lords and disease, the pair find their friendship and faith tested by the extreme situations they find themselves in.
The Book of Mormon is now booking to 7 July 2023 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London.
