Joanna “JoJo” Levesque to star in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway

Joanna “JoJo” Levesque will make her Broadway debut as Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

The platinum-selling singer, songwriter, and actress will play a 14-week limited engagement from April 11 through July 16, 2023.

JoJo burst onto the music scene at 13 with the breakout hit “Leave (Get Out)”. Since then she has released 4 studio album’s and numerous hit singles including “Too Little Too Late” and won a  GRAMMY Award for Best R&B Song for “Say So” with PJ Morton. On screen, she’s appeared in Aquamarine, RV (opposite Robin Williams), The Masked Singer, All American and Hells Kitchen.

JoJo will star opposite Tony Award® nominee Derek Klena who returns to the production in the role of “Christian.”

Ashley Loren and Tony Award® winner Aaron Tveit play their final performance as “Satine” and “Christian,” respectively, on Sunday, April 9.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is the winner of ten 2021 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, two Drama League Awards including Outstanding Production of a Musical, five Drama Desk Awards and ten Outer Critics Circle Award Honor citations including New Broadway Musical. 

Moulin Rouge! The Musical opened to critical acclaim at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in the Summer of 2019 and reopened in September 2021 following the shutdown of Broadway due to the pandemic.
