David Suchet will bring his retrospective show David Suchet: Poirot and More, A Retrospective to Hampstead Theatre this March.
Following its hugely successful West End run, this limited run of only 18 performances will offer audiences at Hampstead Theatre a fascinating insight into Suchet’s five decade career, as he shares some of his most feted performances.
Geoffrey Wansell, journalist, broadcaster, biographer and co-author of Poirot and Me, joins David as interviewer in this unmistakably unique show.
David Suchet said: “Following the success of my one man show in the West End and on Tour last year, and in the light of the 100% cut in Arts Council funding which Hampstead Theatre is having to navigate, I wanted to show my support by bringing my show to this wonderful intimate theatre for a strictly limited season. I was last on stage at Hampstead Theatre in 1987 in Separation, directed by Mike Attenborough, so I think it’s about time!”
Whilst best known for portraying Agatha Christie’s elegant Belgian detective on screen for over 25 years, Suchet has appeared extensively on stage throughout his career with recent productions including The Price (Wyndham’s Theatre), The Importance of Being Earnest (Vaudeville Theatre), The Collection (Harold Pinter Theatre), The Last Confession (Chichester), Long Day’s Journey Into Night and All My Sons, both at the Apollo Theatre.
David Suchet: Poirot and More, A Retrospective is booking from 11 – 29 March 2023 at Hampstead Theatre, London.
