Amit Shah will star in Christopher Neels new play Hummingbird which runs at the 2023 Vault Festival in London.
Written and directed by Neels, Hummingbird is described as Edward Albee’s ‘The Goat‘ meets Michel Gondry’s ‘Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind’; a surreal and relatable exploration of grief, aspiration and dairy farming.
Shah, currently appearing in BBC TV series Happy Valley and known for his performances in The 100 Foot Journey, Johnny English 3 and Phoebe Waller Bridge’s TV series Crashing, was nominated for an Ian Charleson Award for his role in The Alchemist. His stage work includes Bombay Dreams, East is East (Trafalgar Studios) and The Man of Mode (NT).
The cast includes Louise Beresford (Co-Artistic Director of Bruised Sky Productions, Magic Goes Wrong at The Apollo Theatre, The Fairytale Revolution) and Nancy Zamit (Mischief Co-Founder, BBC One’s The Goes Wrong Show).

Hummingbird is produced by Bruised Sky Productions and Fledgling Theatre Company. The piece was developed with Nic Sampson and Callum Cameron, and features design by Virginie Taylor.
Hummingbird runs from 28 February to 5 March 2023 at The Vault Festival, London.
