Watch: New trailer drops for Spitting Image Live

Producers of stage show Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World have released a new trailer ahead of its UK premier in Birmingham this February.

The highly anticipated satirical stage comedy will feature a who’s who of UK politics, UK royalty, international celebrities and film stars.

So far the list of characters include King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince William, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan; climate emergency activist Greta Thunberg; Chinese, Ukrainian and Russian Presidents; UK politicians Suella Braverman, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Michael Gove; actors Tom Cruise, Sir Ian McKellen, Idris Elba, Daniel Craig; Nigel Farage and Fiona Bruce; and Paddington Bear. The general thrust of the story is that world famous celebrities will be thrown together as Tom Cruise is tasked by King Charles with saving Great Britain.

Directed by The Rep’s Artistic Director, double Olivier Award-winner, Sean Foley, the show will run at Birmingham Rep from 1 February to 11 March 2023. Dates for a London run are to be announced.
