Wicked movie news: Michelle Yeoh cast as Madame Morrible, Ethan Slater as Boq

More casting news is coming in about the forthcoming movie version of Wicked.

Variety reports that Michelle Yeoh has been cast as Madame Morrible in the new Wicked The Movie versions, and Ethan Slater is joining the cast to play Boq.

Yeoh and Slater joins a cast that includes Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero and potentially Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard.

The films will be in two-parts, based on the smash-hit stage musical, and directed by Jon M. Chu (In the Heights).

Michelle Yeoh is a multi-award winning screen actress, whose credits include Everything Everywhere All at Once, Crazy Rich Asians and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Ethan Slater’s stage credits include the title role in the Broadway production of SpongeBob SquarePants, for which he received a Tony Award nomination, Lee Harvey Oswald/The Balladeer in Assassins, plus Diner, Bahgdaddy, Claudio Quest, What We Know and Independents.
