West End musical Come From Away will embark on a UK and Ireland tour in 2024.
Producers of the international hit musical announced the tour, its first in the UK, as the show celebrated its 1000th performance at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End. The West End production is now entering its final weeks with the show due to close on 7 January 2023.
The tour will open in Leicester in February 2024 with further dates and venues to be announced shortly.
Winner of Best New Musical at the Olivier Awards, Come From Away is written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and tells the true story of 38 planes that were ordered to land in Gander, Newfoundland, on Sept. 11, 2001, following the World Trade Center attack. The musical follows several passengers from the planes as they are housed by residents of Gander, and develop long lasting friendships in the shadow of a tragedy.
The West End cast features Alice Fearn, Tarinn Calender, Alasdair Harvey, Kate Graham, Chiara Baronti, Jenna Boyd, Ricardo Castro, Mark Dugdale, James Doherty, Mary Doherty, Stuart Hickey, Harry Morrison, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Sorelle Marsh, Alexander McMorran, Micha Richardson, Emma Salvo, Cat Simmons, Jennifer Tierney and Matthew Whennell-Clark.
