Hit West End musical Dear Evan Hansen is bowing out of London tonight, Saturday 22 October 2022.
The Broadway transfer has played for 3 years at the Noel Coward Theatre starting performances on 29 October 2019, although Covid seriously dented the number of shows it played during this time.
The star of the show – Sam Tutty – has been in the production since the beginning of its London run, and scored a 2022 Best Actor in a Musical Olivier Award for the role. The show also bagged Best Musical and Best Score Olivier awards.
Sam is joined in the cast by Lucy Anderson as Zoe Murphy, Doug Colling as Connor Murphy, Iona Fraser as Alana Beck, Jack Loxton as Jared Kleinman, Rebecca McKinnis as Heidi Hansen, Lauren Ward as Cynthia Murphy, and Rupert Young as Larry Murphy. Also Marcus Harman plays Evan at certain performances.
The show also includes Tricia Adele-Turner, Haydn Cox, Kristen Gaetz, Ellis Kirk, Hannah Lindsey, Samantha Mbolekwa, Mark Peachey, Hannah Qureshi, James Winter and Mitchell Zhangazha.
Dear Evan Hansen boasts a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson, a score by Grammy, Tony, and Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and direction by four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif.
The wider creative team includes choreography by Danny Mefford, scenic design by David Korins, projection design by Peter Nigrini, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, and hair design by David Brian Brown.
The Broadway production of the show closed last month on 18 September 2022.
