Things are looking up for mums and dads in London this Christmas as Stick Man comes to the Leicester Square Theatre.

Based on the much-loved book by Julia Donaldson (The Gruffalo, Zog) with illustrations by Axel Scheffler, this smash-hit adaptation of Stick Man returns to the West End at the Leicester Square Theatre from 22 October 2022 to 2 January 2023.

This delightful adaptation from Freckle Productions, the team behind Zog and Tiddler and other Terrific Tales, features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.

Julia Donaldson’s ‘Stick Man’ extends online stream through January
The London stage production of Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man is now available to stream online until 31 January 2021. Filmed at the final performance at the Rose Theatre Kingston in December, this made-for-TV version of the stage show features Jamie Coles, Georgina Duncan and Euan Wilson and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves. The filmed production was initially made available to stream for two weeks over the 2020 Christmas period. Donaldson's much loved tale is brought to life by Freckle Productions - the team which adapted Zog, Tiddler and other Terrific Tales, and Tabby McTat for the stage. The show is directed by Mark Kane with original direction by Sally Cookson (A Monster Calls, Old Vic Theatre), design by Katie Sykes (Jane Eyre, National Theatre), lighting by Elanor Higgins (Private Peaceful, UK Tours) and music by Benji Bower (A Monster Calls, Old Vic Theatre). Stick Man was scheduled to run three daily performances from 10 December 2020 until 3 January 2021 at Rose Theatre Kingston, however the run was cut short by the closure of London theatres on 16 December 2020. Tickets for the stream will be £20 and the show will be available to view for a 24-hour period at any time until 31 January. Money raised will help support the livelihoods of everyone who was working on the production.

Adapted by the team that brought Zog, Tiddler and other Terrific Tales, and Tabby McTat to the stage, Donaldson's tale is brought to life by Jamie Coles, Georgina Duncan and Euan Wilson and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves. Audiences will be socially distanced, and all the latest government advice will be followed to make Stick Man as safe as possible and as enjoyable as ever. The show is directed by Mark Kane with original direction by Sally Cookson (A Monster Calls, Old Vic Theatre), design by Katie Sykes (Jane Eyre, National Theatre), lighting by Elanor Higgins (Private Peaceful, UK Tours) and music by Benji Bower (A Monster Calls, Old Vic Theatre).
