Back To The Future confirms Broadway run in 2023

The London production of Back To The Future The Musical will open on Broadway in 2023, it has been confirmed.

Producers made the announcement in a tweet today saying “Synchronize Your Watches — Back to the Future The Musical is coming to Broadway in 2023!!!

Based on the classic 80’s film starring Michael J Fox, the musical comedy has been a huge hit in London, winning the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The West End production of Back To The Future The Musical stars American Roger Bart (The Producers, Desperate Housewives) as ‘Dr Emmett Brown’ and Olly Dobson in the Michael J Fox role ‘Marty McFly’. Tickets for Back To The Future at the Adelphi Theatre are available to book until 12 February 2023.

Directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town), Back To The Future has a book by Bob Gale and new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film including The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode.

Production details including casting, venue and dates for the Broadway production are to be announced, though the money is on Roger Bart opening the Broadway show.
