Hiran Abeysekera stars in The Father and the Assassin at the National Theatre in London.
Hiran Abeysekera recently starred as Pi in Life of Pi at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London, for which he won the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Actor.
He is currently playing the role on Broadway.
Hiran trained at RADA. His theatre credits include Life of Pi (Sheffield Theatres, West End, Broadway), Botticelli in the Fire (Hampstead Theatre); The Prisoner (Théâtre Des Bouffes Du Nord); Cymbeline, Hamlet and The Taming Of The Shrew (RSC); Peter Pan (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); Behind the Beautiful Forevers and War Horse Prom (National Theatre); Rats Tales (Manchester Royal Exchange) and Tartuffe (English Touring Theatre).
Hiran’s TV credits include Good Karma Hospital Series 4; Holby City; Find Me In Paris and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Radio includes: Tumanbay; Broken Paradise and The Last Time I Saw Richard.
