Hiran Abeysekera is starring in The Jungle Book at the National Theatre in London.
Hiran recently starred as Hamlet in Robert Hastie’s new production of Hamlet at the National Theatre in London.
Hiran Abeysekera won the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performances as Pi in Life of Pi at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London; he reprised the role in the Broadway production.
Hiran trained at RADA. His theatre credits also include The Father and the Assassin (National Theatre); Botticelli in the Fire (Hampstead Theatre); The Prisoner (Théâtre Des Bouffes Du Nord); Cymbeline, Hamlet and The Taming Of The Shrew (RSC); Peter Pan (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); Behind the Beautiful Forevers and War Horse Prom (National Theatre); Rats Tales (Manchester Royal Exchange) and Tartuffe (English Touring Theatre).
Hiran’s TV credits include Good Karma Hospital Series 4; Holby City; Find Me In Paris and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Hiran Abeysekera’s film credits include The Magic Faraway Tree.
His radio work includes: Tumanbay; Broken Paradise and The Last Time I Saw Richard.
