Punchdrunk theatre company have released the first images of their major new immersive show The Burnt City.
Billed as Punchdrunk’s most ambitious show yet, The Burnt City starts previews today, 22 March 2022, running until 28 August 2022 at a massive new permanent home for the company at the Woolwich Works arts complex in Woolwich, South London.
The production is the theatre company’s first time in London since 2014, and reunites the creative team behind Sleep No More, featuring a cast of international performers.
A vast set has been constructed at Woolwich Works in Woolwich Arsenal, situated in two Grade II Listed Buildings with over 100,000 square feet of space.
On their own theatrical adventure, audiences will be free to explore a dystopian landscape, taking them from the royal palaces to the underworld of Troy. As Greece teeters on the brink of victory, the neon backstreets of Downtown Troy give way to a sprawling labyrinth hiding secrets even the prophecies could not foretell.
Audiences can follow the characters who emerge from the shadows, immerse themselves in the show’s shifting atmosphere, or break free of the crowd and discover the mysteries lying in wait.
