Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical has announced new dates, extending its run until 29 January 2023.
The show has won rave reviews from critics and audiences, and has played at the Lyric Theatre since October 2021. Last week it was nominated for 4 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.
Producers also announced that Arinzé Kene, who has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical at this year’s Olivier Awards for his role as Bob Marley, has departed the show. Replacing him is Michael Duke, whose credits include The Lion King, The Inheritance, West Side Story, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, Thriller Live and The Rat Pack LIVE.
As well as Best New Musical and Best Actor in a Musical, the show also picked up two further Olivier Award nominations last week: Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Gabrielle Brooks and Best Original Score or New Orchestration for Orchestrator Simon Hale.
