Is Beverley Knight heading to Hammersmith this summer?
With Beverley Knight leaving new musical The Drifters Girl on 2 July after a hugely successful run, the backstage rumour mill is going haywire on where she will land next.
Whilst a well deserved break may be on the cards, Beverley is known as one of the hardest working British musicians and West End stars, something her fans are grateful for as she usually picks great show after great show.
Is it just strange coincidence that the spectacular new revival ofSister Act coming to the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, opens a couple of weeks after she leaves the Garrick? AND Sister Act happens to be looking for its main lead star Delores Van Cartier, following Whoopi Goldberg’s exit from the show because of scheduling conflicts (because of Covid delays).
She’s the right age, can act, sing and dance, has the gravitas to carry a major show, and would stand up well against Jennifer Saunders as Mother Superior.
This could all be fantasy casting in our heads, but it seems like Theatre Fate to us!
