All-Male Iolanthe to open at Wilton’s

Founder of the Union Theatre, Sasha Regan, will transfer her critically acclaimed all-male production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe to the Wilton’s Music Hall from 30 March 2011, for a limited season.

Originally at the Union Theatre last year, the production is set in a boy’s public school and will feature a cast that includes Christopher Finn as Iolanthe, Alex Weatherhill as Fairy Queen, Louis Maskell as Strephon and Alan Richardson as Phylis.

Design is by Stewart Charlesworth, choreography by Mark Smith of Deaf Men Dancing, musical supervision by Michael England and musical direction by Chris Mundy.

The show follows the Union Theatre’s production of Pirates of Penzance, which also transferred to the Music Hall last year and won the Best Off-West End Production in the Whatsonstage Awards 2010.

  1. Please let me know when the next Gilbert & Sullivan is on so that I can bring the whole family, I love G&S and would like my family to get accustomed to them, as they always have a happy ending! If only real life was like that!

  2. So very pleased Iolanthe is continuing, an amazingly wonderful show. All those people who couldnt get tickets before, take note and book soonest as this will surely be a sell out!
