Sir Stephen Fry is hosting a musical tribute to PG Wodehouse in May, marking 50 years since his death.
Organised by the Pleasance Theatre Trust, Plum: Homage to Happiness will play Wilton’s Music Hall on 20 May 2025.
The tribute night will feature a joyful celebration of PG Wodehouse’s words, dance and songs, devised by Piers Torday and directed by Amy Lane.
Alongside host Stephen Fry, the night will star Alexander Armstrong, Stephen Mangan and Miss Baby Sol.
The Simon Beck Quartet will play songs with lyrics by Wodehouse, and music by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Ivor Novello and more.
Prolific writer and lyricist PG Wodehouse wrote the Jeeves and Wooster series of books, and the lyrics to countless Broadway and West End musicals.
The Cazalet Family, step relatives of PG Wodehouse, said in a statement: “Come celebrate the glorious World and Words of P.G. Wodehouse at Wilton’s Music Hall in the only way he’d approve – by having a dashed good time! Where Imperious Aunts, Grunting Pigs, Bertie and Jeeves and a host of his beloved characters come together under one roof, for one night only, in a grand homage to Humour.”
In aid of the National Literacy Trust, Plum: Homage to Happiness is running at Wilton’s Music Hall in London on 20 May 2025.
