About the show
The hit musical, which has been wowing West End audiences since 2024 (after an initial run at the National Theatre in 2018), intertwines two mythic love stories: young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone. The score masterfully blends indie folk, pop, blues and New Orleans-inspired jazz for a riveting and unforgettable journey to the underworld and back.
Tony and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell originated Hadestown as an independent theatre project and album before developing it into a genre-defying musical alongside Tony Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin.
