The star line up has been announced for Letters to My Younger Future Self in celebration of 70 years of National Youth Theatre (NYT). The one-night event will feature a range of stage and screen stars returning to their NYT roots.
It’s been announced that several stage and screen stars are set to take part in a special one-night event celebrating the National Youth Theatre this September. The event, Letters to My Younger Future Self, will mark 70 years of the NYT.
So far, participating stars include: Adeel Akhtar (Four Lions), India Amarteifio (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), Fehinti Balogun (Down Cemetery Road), Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones), Rob Rinder (Judge Rinder), Takunda Muzondiwa (Roundhouse Poetry Slam winner 2026) and Jack Thorne (Adolescence.)
Further appearances will be announced at a later date.
Letters To My Younger Future Self will feature features a array of creatives representing seven decades of stand-out talent under the direction of CEO and Artistic Director Paul Roseby OBE and Director Josie Daxter, with dramaturgy by Krishna Istha and Sophie Ellerby.
The National Youth Theatre celebrates 70 years
The NYT is renowned globally for its work empowering young creatives to find their voices on stage, screen and behind the scenes. The organisation aims to equipt young people with the tools to realise their creative potential.
Notable alumni include Daniel Craig, Helen Mirren, Lennie James, Matt Smith, Regé‑Jean Page, Ed Sheeran and Florence Pugh.
Dramatists who got an early start with the NYT include playwrights Jack Thorneand James Graham, writer Miriam Battye, and writer and actor Sarah Solemani.
National Youth Theatre pioneers an industry-oriented approach where young people learn from top professionals in front of live and online audiences. They also work to provide accessible training, and routes for career progression in the industry for young people.
