Hit musical Ride The Cyclone is coming back to London this summer.

The show will return to Southwark Playhouse Elephant in London for a summer run from 19 June to 22 August 2026.

Billed as darkly funny, wildly imaginative and surprisingly heartfelt, the show will once again be directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee (A Christmas Carol, Groundhog Day The Musical).

Ride the Cyclone has music, lyrics and book by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, and is the second instalment in Richmond’s “Uranium Teen Scream Trilogy”.

Casting for the London return is to be announced. The cast earlier this year included Edward Wu (Kim’s Convenience) as The Amazing Karnak.

The wider creative team includes musical director Ben McQuigg, set and costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting designer Tim Deiling, video designer Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound designer Tom Marshall, casting director Harry Blumenau, and illusion design by Richard Pinner.

What’s Ride the Cyclone about? When a freak rollercoaster accident claims the lives of six teens, they find themselves trapped in limbo and offered one last shot at life. One by one, they step into the spotlight to prove why they deserve a second chance at life.

The show scored some impressive reviews when it opened last year, including five stars from What’s On Stage, who said “every number in this eclectic score is a winner”, and four stars from The Times and The Standard.
