English National Ballet is returning to the London Coliseum this Christmas with its much-loved production of Nutcracker, and its classic production of Rudolf Nureyev’s Romeo & Juliet.
Their festive ballet – and annual family treat – Nutcracker will run at the London Coliseum from 17 December 2026 to 10 January 2027.
Nutcracker is followed by English National Ballet’s acclaimed production of Romeo & Juliet, at the Coliseum from 14 to 24 January 2027.
Ahead of London, Romeo & Juliet is touring to the Liverpool Empire (15 to 17 October 2026), Manchester’s Palace Theatre (21 to 25 October 2026), and Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre (3 to 5 December 2026).
Nutcracker
English National Ballet premiered this new production of Nutcracker in 2024, choreographed by English National Ballet’s Artistic Director Aaron S. Watkin and Olivier Award-winning choreographer Arielle Smith.
The ballet takes audiences on a fantastical adventure as they join Clara on her journey of discovery, from Edwardian London to the Land of Sweets & Delights.
Nutcracker is brought to life by over 100 dancers and musicians, with Tchaikovsky’s instantly recognisable score played live by English National Ballet Philharmonic. The creative team includes sets by Dick Bird, and lighting by Paul Pyant.

Romeo & Juliet
English National Ballet’s production of Rudolf Nureyev’s Romeo & Juliet is coming home this Christmas, having premiered at the London Coliseum 50 years ago, in 1977.
This balletic reimagining of one of the world’s greatest love stories boasts exhilarating choreography by Rudolf Nureyev, and features gorgeous sets and costumes by Ezio Frigerio and Franca Squarciapino.
Sergei Prokofiev’s score is played live by the English National Ballet Philharmonic, conducted by Music Director Maria Seletskaja, Principal Guest Conductor Gavin Sutherland and Benjamin Pope.
