The forthcoming new UK tour of Noël Coward’s comedy Present Laughter has announced further tour dates.

The revival is produced by Theatre Royal Bath Productions and Augusta Productions, and stars acclaimed actress Tracy-Ann Oberman (EastEnders).

This new production of Noël Coward’s Present Laughter premieres at Theatre Royal Bath from 26 August 2026, and then visits Bath, Cambridge, Malvern, London, Cheltenham, and York.

Oberman will star as Geri Essendine in the comedy, the first time that the main character of Garry Essendine has been played by a woman. Special permission has been granted by The Noël Coward Estate to gender swap the main role, which was first played by Noël Coward himself in 1942.

Tracy-Ann Oberman has reimagined Noël Coward’s classic, in a production that will be directed by Lindsay Posner (Noises Off, A View From the Bridge, The Deep Blue Sea).

Ahead of Present Laughter, Posner and Oberman are teaming up on The Holy Rosenbergs this month at the Menier Chocolate Factory (until 2 May).

Tracy-Ann Oberman is no stranger to taking on great male roles, having played Shylock in her acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic The Merchant of Venice, rebooted as The Merchant of Venice 1936.
