Starring Abigail Amin, Stephen Ashfield, Jeevan Braich, Carla Dixon-Hernandez, Aaron Lee Lambert and Nic Myers
Casting has been announced by the Birmingham Hippodrome for its forthcoming workshop performances of new musical Mona Loser.
The musical is the latest show from Kit Buchan and Jim Barne (Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York).
The workshops will star Abigail Amin (Ink), Stephen Ashfield (Becoming Nancy), Jeevan Braich (Starlight Express), Carla Dixon-Hernandez (Mrs. Doubtfire), Aaron Lee Lambert (Evita), and Nic Myers (Brigadoon).
The Mona Loser workshops will take place in the Patrick Studios at the Birmingham Hippodrome from 10 to 14 March 2026.
The show already had four workshop performances last July at Southwark Playhouse Borough in London.
Inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and set to a high-energy pop score, Mona Loser is billed as a sharp, satirical musical that follows an unsuspecting girl as she’s pushed into the spotlight to play the part of a viral sensation. But as the spotlight gets hotter and DOC lurks just out of frame, the question is: how high can Mona climb – and how far can she fall?
Directed by Tim Jackson, the creative team also includes Joe Beighton (Musical Supervisor) and Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting (Casting Director).
Buchan, Barne and Jackson are teaming up again following their smash-hit musical Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), which played in the West End, and is currently running at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre, booking to 5 July 2026.
