The Traitors is heading to the stage! A live theatre adaptation of the smash-hit TV series is coming to the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End in May 2027. Expect tension, deception, and a thrilling new twist designed exclusively for the live medium.

Based on the hugely popular BBC series hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal will reimagine the hit format as a bold theatrical experience, with a “twist” only live performance can deliver.

Written by John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie (Deputy Artistic Director, National Theatre) and starring Nick Mohammed, it’s set to be one of the theatrical spectaculars of the year.

What is The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal?

A world of paranoia, betrayal and shifting alliances, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is a dramatic exploration of the sliding doors of fate, where nothing is certain and no one is safe.

This bold new stage show does something television cannot and answers the question: who would have won if different players had been chosen to be the Traitors?

From Monday to Friday, the story begins identically but ends in five different ways. Characters banished or murdered early in one version emerge victorious in another. Each stands alone as a complete drama; together, they reveal what happens when the cloak falls elsewhere and victims become victors.

On Saturdays, the audience is handed control to decide who will wear the cloak. Their choice determines in real-time which version will be played out to arrive at a final showdown. The matinee audience may see one outcome, the evening audience quite another.

The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is a cycle of five new plays. Each play tells the whole story of an entire and separate game: the Traitors are chosen, the round tables and murders take their toll, and by the end of the night a winner is crowned. What unfolds across a full television series happens in one thrilling evening.
