The Theatre Royal Windsor and the venue’s owner, Bill Kenwright Ltd, have announced three new shows set to tour the UK in 2026.

The productions include a rare revival of Noël Coward’s comedy The Marquise, a stage adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel Our Man in Havana, and the return of Royce Ryton’s The Anastasia File starring Jenny Seagrove and Simon Shepherd.

Already announced last year, Noël Coward’s comedy The Marquise is getting a stage revival this summer, premiering at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 27 May 2026, and then visiting venues including Oxford, Bath and Guildford.

Theatre Director and Head of Venues for Bill Kenwright Ltd, Anne-Marie Woodley, said in a statement: “In recent years, we’ve been immensely proud to develop exceptional work here at Theatre Royal Windsor, including our annual World Premieres born from our Writers in Residence initiative. Launching the first three plays of the Theatre Royal Windsor Season on Tour marks an exciting new chapter for us, and we’re thrilled to bring our productions to audiences across the UK.”

Noël Coward’s The Marquise

Noël Coward’s rarely performed romantic comedy The Marquise will get an art-deco 1930s setting courtesy of director Philip Wilson’s (A Single Man), set and costumes by Colin Falconer and lighting design by Nick Richings.

Star casting for the play is to be announced.

Coward originally wrote the 1927 comedy as a star vehicle for megastar actress of the day Marie Tempest, and set it in the 18th century. Stage revivals of the play are rare, although a TV adaptation in 1980 starred Diana Rigg as Eloise.

A sparkling and sophisticated tale of old secrets, impulsive passion and eternal youth, when a widowed Count tries to marry off his daughter to the son of his best friend, it seems like a perfectly sensible plan. But with both young lovers secretly pining for others, their entangled affections cause chaos.

Just as their scheme to break free begins, the Count Raoul’s former lover, the spirited Marquise Eloise de Kestournel, bursts back into their lives. Wielding her wit and charm, she turns their carefully laid plans upside down, reminding everyone that love truly can conquer all.

Our Man in Havana

A revival of the 2007 stage adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel Our Man in Havana is coming to Windsor and going on tour in 2026.

Adapted by Clive Francis, who is about to star in I’m Sorry, Prime Minister in the West End, the production opens at Theatre Royal Windsor from 1 to 11 July 2026, before touring to Salisbury, Oxford, Bath, Guildford, and Cheltenham, with further venues to be announced.

Our Man in Havana follows James Wormold, a British vacuum cleaner salesman in pre-revolutionary Havana, Cuba. Struggling financially to support his spoiled daughter, Wormold is recruited by MI6 agent Hawthorne to be a spy. Lacking any actual spy skills or intentions, Wormold fabricates an entire network of fictional agents and reports, using his imagination and local bar conversations. His absurd reports, claiming to depict secret weapons, are taken seriously by MI6, leading to real-world consequences as the Cuban government grows suspicious.

The production is directed by Philip Wilson, with set and costume design by Julie Godfrey, lighting design by Nick Richings, and sound design by Andy Graham.

The Anastasia File

Royce Ryton’s drama The Anastasia File is back in Windsor this autumn, playing from 30 September to 3 October 2026, and then touring to Salisbury, Malvern, and Guildford, with further venues to be announced.

Directed by Roy Marsden, the production will once again star Jenny Seagrove, Simon Shepherd, Ashley D. Gayle and Rosie Thomson.

Based on the enduring mystery surrounding the fate of the Grand Duchess Anastasia, the play explores the claims of a young woman who believes she may be the sole surviving member of the Russian royal family. As her story unfolds, questions of memory, truth and identity are tested, leading to a gripping and compelling theatrical experience.
