Daniel’s Husband to star David Bedella, Joel Harper-Jackson, Luke Fetherston, Raiko Gohara, Liza Sadovy
Marylebone Theatre in London has announced casting for the new production of Michael McKeever’s hit Off-Broadway play Daniel’s Husband.
The play is getting its UK premiere at Marylebone Theatre from 4 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.
Daniel’s Husband will star three-time Olivier Award winner David Bedella (& Juliet) as Barry, Olivier Award winner Liza Sadovy (Cabaret) as Lydia, Joel Harper-Jackson (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) as Daniel, Luke Fetherston (Picture This) as Mitchell, and Raiko Gohara (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) as Trip.
Directed by Alan Souza (Oliver!), Daniel’s Husband is an unflinching look at the nature of love and commitment. Daniel and Mitchell live a meticulously curated life; they have successful careers, a beautifully appointed home, devoted friends, and a profound love for one another. But an unexpected crisis jeopardises their boundlessly bright future, shaking the foundation of their relationship and testing the strength of their devotion.
Daniel’s Husband had its world premiere at Wilton Manors’ Island City Stage in 2015, and won three Carbonell Awards, including Best New Work. In 2017 the show was produced by the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City, where it was nominated for an Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Work and returned in 2018 to New York City in a commercial production at the Westside Theatre Upstairs. It has since had various productions across the United States and around the world.
The wider creative team for Daniel’s Husband includes set and costume design by Justin Williams, lighting design by Jamie Platt, sound design by Sarah Weltman, and casting by Arthur Carrington.
Coming up at Marylebone Theatre is award-winning new play The Wanderers by Anna Ziegler (Photograph 51), playing from 17 October to 29 November 2025. Directed by Igor Golyak (Our Class), the play stars Katerina Tannenbaum (And Just Like That, Gossip Girl), Paksie Vernon (People, Places and Things), and Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia).
Produced by Plastered Productions, Daniel’s Husband is playing from 4 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.
