Priscilla Queen of the Desert has revealed initial casting ahead of its new UK & Ireland tour in 2026.

Based on the Oscar-winning film, this spectacular stage adaptation follows three drag performers – Bernadette, Tick and Adam, on a journey of self-discovery across the Australian outback aboard their beloved bus, Priscilla.

The show will star Fascinating Aïda’s Adèle Anderson as Bernadette, played by Terence Stamp in the movie. Further casting is to be announced.

Adèle’s recent theatre credits include The School For Scandal (Midsummer Scene Festival, Dubrovnik), Nul Points (Union Theatre), She Loves Me (Sheffield Crucible), Closer To Heaven (Above The Stag), Doctor Dolittle (UK Tour) and Follies (Landor Theatre). She has recently performed at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and has appeared in numerous pantomimes around the country and directed two at The Theatre, Chipping Norton.

The upcoming UK & Ireland tour kicks off at the Palace Theatre in Manchester in February 2026, and then visits Glasgow, Liverpool, Southampton, Birmingham, Norwich, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Nottingham, Aylesbury, Woking, Canterbury, Belfast, Dublin, Brighton, Leicester, Bradford, and Truro. Bringing its signature blend of glitz, disco anthems and high-energy performances to audiences nationwide, the show boasts extravagant costumes, electrifying dance numbers, and a soundtrack that includes some of the greatest disco hits of all time, including It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, and Go West.

Adèle Anderson said in a statement: “I am delighted to have been asked to join such an illustrious team to bring this joyous show to theatres around the UK and Ireland. Bernadette is a warm, witty, caring, and compassionate character, whom audiences will love. In the current climate, it is vital that people see this character as a human being who is secure in herself, who loves, laughs, and cries, and, most importantly, earns respect from those she encounters as she motors through Australia.”

The Priscilla Queen of the Desert tour is once again directed by Ian Talbot. The creative team also includes choreography by Matt Cole (Newsies), plus set and lighting design by Andrew Exeter.

Produced by Mark Goucher (Hairspray, The Full Monty and Shrek), the show has previously enjoyed long runs in the West End and on Broadway, as well as multiple UK and international tours.
