The RSC has announced full casting for its forthcoming production of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, starring Simon Russell Beale.
Directed by Max Webster (The Importance of Being Earnest, David Tennant in Macbeth), Titus Andronicus is running in the RSC’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, from 17 April to 7 June 2025.
Titus Andronicus will star Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor Simon Russell Beale (The Lehman Trilogy) in the title role, alongside Emma Fielding (Van Der Valk, Strike) as Marcia Andronicus, Natey Jones (The Grapes of Wrath) as Aaron the Moor, Wendy Kweh (Chimerica) as Tamora, and Letty Thomas (Strategic Love Play) as Lavinia.
Announced today are the rest of the company, including Jeremy Ang Jones as Demetrius, Marlowe Chan-Reeves as Chiron, Danny Collins as Martius/Messenger, Ned Costello as Bassianus/Publius, Joshua James as Saturninus, Thomas Josling as Quintus/Aemilius, Joel MacCormack as Lucius, Jerone Marsh-Reid as Alarbus/Goth, and Sharita Oomeer as Nurse/Goth.
The production intends to examine Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy through the lens of 21st century aggression.
Joining Max Webster in the creative team are: Set and Costume Designer, Joanna Scotcher; Lighting Designer, Lee Curran; Composer, Matthew Herbert; Sound Designer, Tingying Dong; Movement Director, Jade Hackett; Fight and Intimacy Directors, Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown; and Casting Director, Matthew Dewsbury CDG.
The production was confirmed during the RSC’s 2025 – 2026 new season announcement.
Titus Andronicus is playing in the RSC’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, from 17 April to 7 June 2025.
