The world premiere of Faygele by Shimmy Braun is coming to the Marylebone Theatre in London this spring 2025.
Directed by Will Nunziata, Faygele is playing at Marylebone Theatre from 30 April to 31 May 2025.
The cast includes Ilan Galkoff (Backstairs Billy), Ben Caplan (A Sherlock Carol), Clara Francis (Leopoldstadt), Andrew Paul (The Bill) and Yiftach Mizrahi (Band of Spies).
Faygele is billed as a story of survival in the space between faith and identity, love and duty, past and future, and centres on 13 year old Ari Freed.
Ari’s world is upended in an instant – when, at his Bar Mitzvah celebration, his father strikes him down with a single word: Faygele – a derogatory Yiddish word for homosexual.
Joining Will Nunziata in the creative team are: Set & Costume Designer David Shields; Lighting Designer Tony P. Darvill; Sound Designer Dan Samson; Casting Director Rob Kelly Company Stage Manger Elsie O’Rourke; Deputy Stage Manger Jordan Deegen Fleet; and Executive Producer/General Management Thomas Hopkins Productions.
Faygele is running at Marylebone Theatre from 30 April to 31 May 2025.
