From Here to Eternity The Musical – in cinemas on 3 July

Tim Rice’s new musical From Here to Eternity, which played at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London, is to be broadcast in cinemas.

Timed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the original film’s Oscar wins, the musical will be broadcast in over 250 cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 3 July 2014.

The broadcast will also include a tour of the Shaftesbury Theatre and an interview with Tim Rice.

Adapted from the 1951 novel by James Jones and famously turned into an Oscar-winning movie starring Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster, the musical adaptation has lyrics by Rice, music by Stuart Brayson and a book by Bill Oakes.

The show stars Darius Campbell as Warden, Robert Lonsdale as Prewitt, Rebecca Thornhill as Karen, Siubhan Harrison as Lorene and Ryan Sampson as Maggio.

The screening will be released by CineStage.
