Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor Simon Russell Beale is set to return to the RSC this spring 2025, in Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus.

The revival of Titus Andronicus will be directed by Max Webster (The Importance of Being Earnest, David Tennant in Macbeth).

Titus Andronicus will star Simon Russell Beale (The Lehman Trilogy) in the title role, alongside Emma Fielding as Marcia Andronicus, Natey Jones as Aaron the Moor, Wendy Kweh as Tamora, and Letty Thomas as Lavinia.

The production intends to examine Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy through the lens of 21st century aggression.

Joining Max Webster in the creative team are: Set and Costume Designer Joanna Scotcher; Lighting Designer Tingying Dong; Composer Matthew Herbert; Sound Designer Lee Curran; Casting Director Matthew Dewsbury CDG; and Children’s Casting Director Charlie Metcalf.

The production was confirmed during the RSC’s 2025 – 2026 new season announcement.

Titus Andronicus is playing in the RSC’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, from 17 April to 7 June 2025.
