Already announced are the show’s principal characters, with Nicola Walker (Unforgotten; Last Tango in Halifax; Spooks; The Corn is Green, National Theatre; A View From the Bridge, West End) starring as Polly and Stephen Mangan (Episodes; Green Wing; A Christmas Carol, The Old Vic) as her husband Nick, who are reuniting following playing husband and wife in high-rating TV drama The Split. They are joined by Erin Doherty (Princess Anne in The Crown; Death of England, West End) as Kate.
Announced today are their understudies, with Imogen Slaughter (The Tempest, RSC; Sherlock; Napoleon) as Understudy Polly, Nicholas Cowell (Witness For the Prosecution, West End; The Durrells; Jack, Kat and the Band) as Understudy Nick, and Phoebe Marshall (Witness For The Prosecution – West End; The Estate) as Understudy Kate.
Billed as “explicit, funny and provocative”, with an age recommendation of 18+, this new world-premiere production of Unicorn is directed by James Macdonald (Waiting for Godot).
The creative team also includes set and costume design by Miriam Buether, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, sound design by Paul Groothuis, casting by Amy Ball, intimacy direction by Yarit Dor, associate direction by Sammy J Glover, associate design by Joana Dias, production management by Kate West, costume supervision by Olivia Ward, props supervision by Mary Halliday, and the voice coach is Hazel Holder.
