The BBC has broadcast new documentary My Life: The Snowman and Me on CBBC, about hit West End Christmas show The Snowman.
The TV show follows two boys as they are cast to perform the lead role in Birmingham Rep’s The Snowman.
Now in its 27th year at the West End’s Peacock Theatre, The Snowman is currently three weeks into its six-week London run, playing to 4 January 2025.
Phoenix and Teddy are both 9 years old, and were cast to play The Boy in this year’s production in London. The documentary covers the story of the two young actors – from audition to first night at the Peacock Theatre, and is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
Phoenix and Teddy alternate performances in the show alongside Stanley, who returns for his third year as The Boy.
The Snowman is the magical stage adaptation of the much-loved book by Raymond Briggs and movie, featuring the iconic music and lyrics by Howard Blake, including ‘Walking in the Air’, all played by a live orchestra.
The show is directed by Bill Alexander, and designed by Ruari Murchison, with choreography by Robert North and lighting by Tim Mitchell.
My Life: The Snowman and Me was produced by Fresh Start Media for the BBC, and directed by Marshall Corwin.
The Snowman is now playing at the Peacock Theatre until 4 January 2025.
