The Big West End Walk raised over £4,000 for the Acting for Others theatre charity, surpassing last year’s total of £3.5k.
Organised by the West End Charity Football Club, the walk took place on Sunday, 8 September 2024, and spanned over 16 miles, passing 58 West End theatres in London. Starting at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, home of Wicked, and concluding at the London Palladium, the walk lasted over six hours.
Following its success, the Big West End Walk is set to become an annual event, with plans for more supporters to join future walks in support of Acting for Others.
This year’s event was led by West End Charity Football Club Captain Jon-Scott Clark (Hamilton, Miss Saigon) and Jonny Phillips (Les Misérables), who launched the sponsored walk in 2023.
The West End Charity Football Club team also includes John Addison (School of Rock), Matt Blaker (Jesus Christ Superstar), Danny Colligan (Les Misérables), Vinny Coyle (The Phantom of The Opera), Ellis Kirk (Dear Evan Hansen), Jo Parsons (Les Misérables), and Captain of the Women’s team, Courtney Stapleton (SIX).
The walk included Acting for Others Ambassadors Kim Ismay, John Partridge, Tom Read Wilson, Ben Stock, Harriet Thorpe, and Gary Wilmot, as well as supporters Cassidy Janson, Caroline Sheen, Michael Jibson, and Natalie Shay. Competition winners Maisie Cohen, Flick-Marie Baker, and Becky Holland were also invited to participate.
