Dame Imelda Staunton is currently giving the performance of a lifetime in Hello, Dolly! at the London Palladium, but that’s not all!

Multi-Olivier Award winning and Oscar nominated stage and screen star Imelda Staunton is returning to her Harry Potter roots as Dolores Umbridge in a new Universal ride in Florida in 2025.

A new promotional video has been released for the brand new experience, called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, which is opening at the multi-million dollar new Universal Epic Universe theme park in Orlando Florida in 2025.

The video shows Imelda filming new scenes as senior British Ministry of Magic bureaucrat Dolores Umbridge for the ride, which enables Harry Potter fans to enter a new era of the wizarding world and go deeper into the British Ministry of Magic.

From 1920s Paris to the 1990s, the ride is based on an enchanted lift and allows visitors to meet past Ministers, explore the Auror Headquarters, and find yourself back in Dolores’s pink office!

Universal Epic Universe in Florida will feature a number of themed lands alongside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, including Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, and Celestial Park.

Imelda Staunton is starring in Dominic Cooke’s revival of Hello, Dolly! at the London Palladium to 14 September 2024.
