Disney and Cameron Mackintosh have revealed more dates for their forthcoming UK & Ireland tour of West End musical Mary Poppins.

Mary Poppins, which is based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the original Walt Disney film, will tour the UK and Ireland in 2024 & 2025.

New dates include the Alhambra Theatre Bradford (21 May – 29 June 2025), Birmingham Hippodrome (16 July – 23 August 2025), Mayflower Theatre, Southampton (27 August – 20 September 2025), Sunderland Empire (1 – 25 October 2025) and Milton Keynes Theatre (29 October – 22 November 2025). Additional venues are to be announced.

The tour starts at the Bristol Hippodrome on 4 November 2024, and then travels to already-announced dates including Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 11 December 2024, the Edinburgh Festival Theatre from 22 Janaury 2025, Plymouth Theatre Royal from 26 February 2025, and Manchester Palace Theatre from 9 April 2025.

Mary Poppins stars Stefanie Jones (Muriel’s Wedding the Musical, The Sound of Music) as Mary Poppins and Jack Chambers (Singin’ in the Rain, The Sound of Music, So You Think You Can Dance Australia winner) as Bert – both of whom starred in the successful Australian production of the show.

The magical story of the world’s favourite Nanny is adapted from the stories by PL Travers and the Walt Disney film. The original music and lyrics are by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, including the classic songs Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Feed the Birds and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; and new songs and additional music are by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The show’s book is by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Mary Poppins last played in the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre from 2019 to 2023 starring  Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins and Charlie Stemp as Bert.

Mary Poppins is co-directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne (Oliver!) and direction is by Richard Eyre. Orchestrations by William David Brohn with dance and vocal arrangements by George Stiles. Sound design is by Paul Gatehouse and lighting is by Hugh Vanstone and Natasha Katz. Co-choreography is by Stephen Mear. The reimagined set and costume designs are by Bob Crowley.

The production is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh, and the producer for Disney Theatrical Productions is Thomas Schumacher.
