Casting has been announced for The Cat and the Canary at Chichester Festival Theatre.
Carl Grose adapts John Willard’s terrifying tale, in a new co-production with Told by an Idiot.
The cast of The Cat and the Canary features Tarinn Callender (Come From Away, Hamilton) as Harry Blythe; Hayley Carmichael (Home, Witness for the Prosecution) as Mrs Pleasant; Calum Finlay (Hamlet, Mary Stuart) as Paul Jones; Nick Haverson (Much Ado About Nothing, Love’s Labour’s Lost) as Crosby/Hendricks/Patterson; Lena Kaur (I Jack Wright, Hollyoaks) as Susan Sillsby; Heather Lai (My Neighbour Totoro, Would You Bet Against Us?) as Dora; Nikhita Lesler (Noises Off) as Cicily Young; Lucy McCormick (Cowbois, Wuthering Heights) as Annabelle West; and Will Merrick (Skins, Dead Pixels) as Charlie Wilder.
Directed by Paul Hunter, the show is inspired by Rian Johnson’s acclaimed film Knives Out.
Other creatives on the show include design by Angela Davies, lighting by Aideen Malone, music by Ian Ross, puppetry design by Lyndie Wright, puppetry direction by Rachel Leonard, and casting by Matilda James CDG.
The Cat and the Canary is playing at Chichester Festival Theatre’s Minerva Theatre from 27 September to 26 October 2024.
Also announced today is casting for Chichester’s forthcoming production of John le Carré’s The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.
Currently playing at Chichester Festival Theatre is a new production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver!, directed by Matthew Bourne, and heading to the West End later this year.
