Casting has been announced for the London premiere of Cassie and the Lights coming to Southwark Playhouse Borough next month
The New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festival hit play stars Alex Brain (The Railway Children, York Theatre) as Cassie, Helen Chong (A.L.I.C.E in Wanderlust) as Tin, Emily McGlynn (Oh! You Pretty Things, Southwark Playhouse) as Kit and Martha Walker (Swing), with voiceovers by Bethany Antonia (House of the Dragon), Louisa Harland (Derry Girls, Long Day’s Journey Into Night), Oli Higginson (Bridgerton) Wendi Peters (Coronation Street) and John Thomson (The Fast Show, Men Behaving Badly)
Based on real-life events and interviews with children in care and featuring live music, this play celebrates the resilience of teenagers and is a tender and playful examination of what makes a family and what holds it together.
Cassie and the Lights is created and directed by Alex Howarth with music by Imogen Mason and Ellie Mason with set and costume design by Ruth Badila.
Cassie and the Lights runs from 3 – 20 April 2024 at Southwark Playhouse Borough.
