Production photos are in for Shifters by Benedict Lombe at the Bush Theatre.
The new play stars Tosin Cole (Doctor Who) as Des and Heather Agyepong (The Power, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) as Dre, in this fierce romance that sees tragedy bring two people back into each other’s lives, carrying new secrets and old scars.
Writer Benedict Lombe (Lava) is a Black British Theatre Award winner and Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting .
The play is directed by Bush Theatre Artistic Director, and multi-award winner, Lynette Linton (August in England, Clyde’s, Blues for an Alabama Sky), with a creative team that also includes Set and Costume Designer Alex Berry; Lighting Designer Neil Austin; Sound Designer Tony Gayle; Composer Xana; Movement Director Shelley Maxwell; Casting Director Heather Basten CDG; Voice Coach Joel Trill; Costume Supervisor Malena Arcucci; Production Manager Chloe Stally-Gibson; Company Stage Manager Crystal Gayle; and Assistant Stage Manager Hayley Bowman.
Shifters is now playing at the Bush Theatre until 30 March 2024.
